Painters and decorators in Slough
Slough has housing stock ranging from Victorian and Edwardian terraces around the town centre to 1930s semis in Cippenham and Langley, post-war council housing, and large new build estates on the former industrial land. That mix means no two decorating jobs are the same. A Victorian terrace with high ceilings, original corbels and settled plaster needs different preparation and materials to a modern timber frame townhouse or a flat in a converted office block.
Many properties in Slough are rented. The town has a high proportion of private tenants, and landlords expect painting and decorating to be done quickly, cleanly and at a price that makes sense between tenancies. We do a lot of end-of-tenancy work: washing down walls, filling holes from picture hooks and shelving, painting everything in a durable emulsion, and getting the property ready for the next tenant within a week.
Slough is also a commercial town. The trading estate is one of the largest in Europe, and the town centre has offices, shops, restaurants and hotels. Commercial decorating here often means working out of hours, using low-odour paints, and getting large areas finished over a weekend. We are used to that. We plan the work around your business, not the other way round.
The weather matters for exterior work. Slough sits in the Thames Valley, which means mild but damp winters and occasional heavy rain. We only paint exteriors when the temperature and moisture levels are right, usually between April and October. If the weather turns, we stop and reschedule rather than risk paint failing. That is standard practice for any decorator who cares about the result.
